Have you decided to apply for an adult casting? An excellent decision — but as with any professional appointment, good preparation makes all the difference. At FrenchCasting, we receive applications every week, and the ones that stand out almost always have one thing in common: they are prepared. Here is our complete checklist.
Understanding what the agency expects
First of all, read the casting announcement or page carefully. Every agency has its specifics: at FrenchCasting, for example, our castings are exclusively for adult female models, and a valid ID is required before any commitment. Applying without meeting the basic criteria wastes everyone's time — starting with yours.
Preparing physically and mentally
A casting is a professional appointment. That doesn't mean you need a makeover — it means arriving rested, fresh and presentable:
- Sleep well the night before — a rested face shows immediately on camera.
- Stay hydrated and eat light before coming.
- Take care of your appearance without overdoing it: simple make-up, clean nails, tidy hair.
- Be on time — punctuality is the first quality of a professional model.
The essential documents
The most important point, and non-negotiable: your valid ID. Age verification is an absolute legal obligation in this industry, with no exceptions. Have it ready before you even apply: a readable, in-date document.
Application photos
For your first contact, there is no need to hire a professional photographer. What we ask for is 3 to 5 recent, honest photos:
- A front-facing portrait, natural light, no filters.
- A profile portrait.
- A full-body photo.
- Optionally, a photo of your choice that shows you at your best.
Honesty is essential: overly retouched photos create a gap between expectation and reality — one that always works against the applicant.
Preparing your mindset
Finally, and this may be the most important: come with questions. Feel free to ask about the shoot schedule, the conditions, the pay. At FrenchCasting, payment is made on the day of the shoot and everything is contractualised beforehand — but you have the right (and the duty) to check everything.
A prepared applicant who asks questions is a serious applicant. That is exactly the profile agencies are looking for.
